Senior Associate - Business Development

Not an entry level position, this role is ideally suited to a candidate with at least 1 year of internal or directly relatable experience in process chemistry or in a contract manufacturing environment. The candidate should be a flexible, organized, and self-motivated professional with a strong ability to multi-task without losing sight of details. Responsible for supporting Business Development Leads and Account Managers with Client relationships.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supports Account Managers by updating and tracking the progress of client projects from start to finish, including processing RFIs (Requests for Information), RFPs (Requests for Proposals), due dates for submission, project proposals, POs (Purchase Orders), and work orders
  • Clearly communicates with the Business Development, Project Coordination, Import/Export, and Technical teams to ensure client project timelines and budgets are met while proactively flagging any potential issues
  • Serves as lead point of contact for client invoicing matters for assigned clients, including issuing invoices when appropriate Incoterms have been met and tracking and communicating with the Accounting team until the payment is received
  • Tracks weekly sales for assigned clients
  • Uses SalesForce and other software to enter and track all activity described above
  • Able to take direction virtually (through email, Zoom, and phone)
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties listed in this job classification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, a science degree, especially in Chemistry or Biology, preferred for promotability
  • 1-3 years of directly relatable experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • SalesForce, QuickBooks knowledge a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be proactive in seeking better efficiency in communication with Clients and Colleagues
  • Team player with an enthusiastic and collaborative approach
  • Minimal travel as needed to support group operations
  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
